Ampd Bros is an Australian ebike brand that started on the Gold Coast in 2019, and it supplies most of the fat tyre, cruiser and kids e-bikes we sell. If you want to understand who is behind the bike, what each range does and how the models compare, this is the plain-English overview.
We are the retailer, not the manufacturer, so everything below is based on the supplier's published specifications and terms. Prices are our current prices, and each product page has the live figure.
Who Ampd Bros are and what they build
Ampd Bros is an Australian brand established on the Gold Coast in 2019. Its range falls into three groups: adult fat tyre and cruiser e-bikes (ACE, Stubbie, CHUBBIE and RIPTIDE), kids e-bikes (EVO Racing and Lil Rippa), and a handful of related models that sit beside them on our site, including the RFN WARRIOR kids bike and the ARES road electric dirt bike.
Buying from an Australian ebike brand matters most when something needs a warranty claim or a spare part, because you are dealing with a local supplier and nationwide warranty terms rather than an overseas listing.

Fat tyre and cruiser families explained
Beach cruisers: RIPTIDE and CHUBBIE
The RIPTIDE 3 is the entry point at $2,190, a 26" cruiser with a 48V 15Ah battery, which works out to 48 x 15 = 720Wh. The CHUBBIE 3 steps up to a 48V 20Ah pack (960Wh) and a quoted range of up to 80km for $3,490. Both come with a Shimano Altus 7-speed drivetrain and hydraulic brakes. If you are comparing styles, an e bike cruiser like these is built for relaxed upright riding on flat paths, while fat tyre models trade some of that for grip on soft ground. Wikipedia describes the cruiser bicycle if you want the design history.
CHUBBIE 3 Electric Bike (48V 20Ah / 250W)
Ampd Bros electric beach cruiser with 250W continuous, 48V 20Ah, range up to 80km.

Stubbie: compact fat tyres
The Stubbie S3 has 20" wheels, a step-over frame and the same 720Wh battery as the RIPTIDE, for $2,590. The Stubbie-S uses a step-through frame at the same price. A fat tyre is simply a wide, low-pressure tyre that floats over sand and loose ground, as the Wikipedia fatbike entry explains.
Stubbie S3 Electric Bike (48V 15Ah / 250W)
Ampd Bros fat tyre electric bike with 250W continuous, 48V 15Ah, range up to 60km.

ACE: from mini to dual motor
The ACE family is the broadest. The ACE Mini ($2,390) is a compact 16" single-speed bike. The ACE Adventure ($3,290) adds a 48V 20Ah battery, adjustable front suspension and 203mm rotors. The ACE PRO is $3,990 with dual suspension, a 48V 25Ah pack (1,200Wh), 4-piston brakes and a quoted range of up to 100km.
ACE-X Demon S5: the high performance e-bike of the range
At the top sits the ACE-X Demon S5 at $4,990. It has a 1,000W motor, a 52V 25Ah battery (1,300Wh), dual suspension and 4-piston brakes. It is off-road only. If you want a high performance e-bike for private property and trails, this is the model to look at, but it is not a commuter. For a road-compliant bike, choose one of the 250W models, select the road-compliant option at checkout and confirm your state rules.
ACE PRO Electric Bike (48V 25Ah / 250W)
Ampd Bros fat tyre electric bike with 250W continuous, 48V 25Ah, range up to 100km.
The kids ebike range: EVO Racing and Lil Rippa
Ampd Bros also builds a kids ebike line, and it is aimed at supervised riding on private property. The EVO Racing models come in 16" ($1,599), 18" ($1,999) and 20" ($2,399) sizes, with brushless motors from 350W to 750W and dual suspension. The EVO Racing 18" has a 36V 5Ah battery (180Wh), a quoted range of up to 15km and a top speed of 30 km/h, off-road on private property only.
EVO Racing 18" Electric Bike (36V 5Ah / 500W)
Ampd Bros kids electric bike with 500W brushless motor, 36V 5Ah, range up to 15km.
The Lil Rippa 16" is $1,999 with a 468Wh removable battery. Kids models carry a 1-year Ampd Bros nationwide warranty. For a side-by-side look, read our EVO Racing and Lil Rippa comparison and the kids electric motor bikes page. Smaller riders may also suit the electric mini bikes category.
Road-compliant or off-road: the choice you make at checkout
Most Ampd Bros adult e-bikes come as a 250W road-compliant model, with pedal assist limited to 25 km/h and the throttle limited to a 6 km/h walk assist, or as an off-road model for private property. You make that choice at purchase and it cannot be modified later. The ACE-X Demon S5 is off-road only.
Rules vary by state. Check the NSW Government e-bike page or Queensland Street Smarts before riding on public paths or roads.
Warranty and delivery under supplier terms
Supplier terms apply to these bikes. Adult e-bikes carry a 2-year nationwide warranty covering manufacturer faults. It excludes wear items such as tyres, tubes, brake pads and seats, and drops to 6 months for hire or commercial use. Kids e-bikes carry 1 year. Delivery is by Toll Ipec with signature required.
Free freight applies on orders over $1,500, and paying with crypto or PayID earns a 10% instant discount. See our shipping and delivery page for details.
What buying an Australian ebike brand gets you
In practice, three things set an Australian ebike apart from a random marketplace listing. First, written warranty terms: 2 years on adult models and 1 year on kids models, with the wear-item exclusions spelled out. Second, a clear model choice at purchase, so you know whether your bike is the 250W road-compliant version or the off-road version. Third, a supplier and a retailer you can contact if something goes wrong. If you have a question before you buy, our contact page is the quickest route, and our returns policy explains how returns work.
When you read lists of the best e-bikes Australia shoppers rank online, check each entry for those same three things. A glossy photo tells you nothing about support.
Comparing the range on value
Motor and battery basics
Every adult e bike electric drive in the road-compliant Ampd Bros range is a 250W continuous motor, so battery energy is the main difference between models. Battery energy is volts x amp-hours: 48V 15Ah is 720Wh, 48V 20Ah is 960Wh, 48V 25Ah is 1,200Wh and the ACE-X Demon S5 at 52V 25Ah is 1,300Wh. Whether you call it an electric bicycle ebike or just an e-bike, the pack is the part that decides range and a good share of the price.
Price e bike comparison: dollars per watt-hour
Dividing price by watt-hours puts every model on the same scale:
- RIPTIDE 3: $2,190 / 720Wh = about $3.04 per Wh
- ACE Mini: $2,390 / 720Wh = about $3.32 per Wh
- ACE PRO: $3,990 / 1,200Wh = about $3.33 per Wh
- ACE Adventure: $3,290 / 960Wh = about $3.43 per Wh
- Stubbie S3: $2,590 / 720Wh = about $3.60 per Wh
- CHUBBIE 3: $3,490 / 960Wh = about $3.64 per Wh
- ACE-X Demon S5: $4,990 / 1,300Wh = about $3.84 per Wh
The spread is narrower than many buyers expect. The extra money for the ACE PRO buys dual suspension, 4-piston brakes and more range for roughly the same cost per watt-hour as the cheaper ACE Mini. Any electric bicycle Australia buyers consider should be judged this way, alongside frame, brakes and warranty.
How to choose between the families
- Flat paths and beach cruising: RIPTIDE or CHUBBIE.
- Mixed terrain and fat tyres: Stubbie or ACE Adventure.
- Longer range and suspension: ACE PRO.
- A child who needs a supervised first bike: EVO Racing or Lil Rippa.
