Complete E-Moto Maintenance Guide: Cleaning, Chain Tension & Bearing Care

While electric dirt bikes require far less maintenance than internal combustion engines, regular cleaning and mechanical checks keep your suspension, drivetrain, and electronics performing flawlessly.

1. Washing Rules: Never Pressure-Wash Bearing Seals & Throttle Use a low-pressure garden hose and dedicated bike wash. Never blast high-pressure water directly at the throttle housing, ignition keyway, controller cooling fins, or wheel hub bearings.

2. Secondary Chain Slack Ensure 15mm–25mm of vertical chain play with the rider off the bike. A chain that is too tight places excessive stress on the jackshaft bearings and motor output shaft.

3. Dielectric Grease for Connectors Apply a dab of silicone dielectric grease to main battery discharge plugs (QS8, QS10, or Anderson connectors) to prevent oxidation and ensure minimum contact resistance.
